1. Describe
ADC0844 and ADC0848CCV are CMOS 8-bit successive approximation A/D converters with multifunctional analog input multiplexers. The 4-channel or 8-channel multiplexer can be configured in single-ended, differential, or pseudo-differential operating modes through software. Differential mode provides low-frequency input common-mode rejection and allows the analog range of the converter to be shifted. In addition, the A/D reference can be adjusted so that the reduced analog range can be converted with 8-bit resolution. A/D is designed to operate through the control bus of various microprocessors. The three-state output latch that directly drives the data bus allows the A/D to be configured as a memory location or I/O device for the microprocessor without the need for interface logic.
