1. Describe

The ADuM1310/ADuM13111 are 3-channel digital isolators based on Analog Devices, Inc.'s iCoupler® technology. Combining high-speed CMOS and monolithic air-core transformer technology, these isolation components offer excellent performance characteristics compared to alternatives such as optocoupler devices. By avoiding the use of LEDs and photodiodes, iCoupler devices eliminate the design difficulties typically associated with optocouplers. Typical optocoupler problems involve uncertain current transfer ratios, maximum operating temperatures, and elimination of lifetime effects with the simple iCoupler digital interface and stable performance characteristics. External drivers and other discrete components are not required to use these iCoupler products. In addition, iCoupler devices consume only one-tenth to one-sixth the power consumption of optocouplers with comparable signal data rates. iCoupler also offers higher channel density and more channel directionality options. The ADuM1310/ADuM1311 isolators provide three independent channels of isolation in a multi-channel configuration with data rates up to 10 Mbps. All models operate on either supply voltage. The side voltage range is 2.7 V to 5.5 V, providing a low voltage system and implementing the voltage translation function on the isolation barrier. Allows all product users to predetermine the default output state with no input A simple control pin is used for the VDD1 supply. Unlike other optocoupler replacements, the ADuM1310/ADuM1311 isolators feature a patented refresh feature that ensures DC correctness without input during logic transitions and power up/down.
