1. Describe
The portable communications, computing, and video equipment markets are challenging the semiconductor industry to develop smaller and smaller electronic components. Bourns offers transient voltage suppression diodes suitable for surge and ESD protection applications in a compact chip package DO-214AA (SMB) size format. The transient voltage suppressor series provides breakdown voltage options from 6.8 V to 550 V. The typical fast response time of unidirectional devices is less than 1.0 picoseconds, while the typical response time of bidirectional devices from 0 V to the minimum breakdown voltage is less than 5.0 picoseconds. Bourns® chip diodes comply with JEDEC standards, are easy to handle with standard pick and place equipment, and have a flat configuration that minimizes rolling.
