1. Describe
Skyworks' family of ultra-low power digital isolators are CMOS devices that offer significant data rate, propagation delay, power, size, reliability and external BOM advantages over traditional isolation technologies. The operating parameters of these products are stable over a wide temperature range and throughout the life of the device, resulting in ease of design and highly uniform performance. All device versions feature Schmitt Trigger inputs for high noise immunity and require only VDD bypass capacitors. Data rates up to 150 Mbps are supported with propagation delays of less than 10 ns on all devices. The enable input provides a single point of control for enabling and disabling the output drive. Ordering options include a choice of isolation ratings (1.0, 2.5, 3.75 and 5 kV) and a selectable failsafe operating mode to control the default output state during power outages. All >1 kVRMS products are UL, CSA, VDE and CQC safety certified, and products in wide body packages support reinforced insulation and withstand voltages up to 5 kVRMS. Automotive grade is available for some part numbers. These products are manufactured using automotive-specific processes at all steps of the manufacturing process to ensure the robustness and low defect rates required for automotive applications.

6. Function Description
The Si865x channels work like optocouplers, except that the RF carrier is modulated instead of light. This simple architecture provides a strong isolated data path and requires no special consideration or initialization at startup. A channel consists of an RF transmitter and an RF receiver, separated by a semiconductor-based isolation barrier. Input A uses on/off keying to modulate the carrier provided by the RF oscillator. The receiver contains a demodulator that decodes the input state according to its RF energy content and applies the result to output B through the output driver. This RF on/off keying scheme is superior to a pulse coding scheme because it offers best-in-class noise immunity, low power consumption, and better immunity to magnetic fields.
