1. Describe
The M27C256B is a 256 Kbit EPROM that provides UV and OTP ranges. It is ideal for microprocessor systems and is organized in 32,768 x 8 bits. The FDIP28W has a transparent cover that allows the user to expose the chip to UV light to erase bit patterns. The new pattern can then be written to the device after the programming process. For applications where the content only needs to be programmed once and does not need to be erased, the M27C256B is available in PDIP28 and PLCC32 packages. To meet environmental requirements, ST offers the M27C256B in the ECOPACK® package. ECOPACK packages are lead-free. The class of secondary interconnects is marked on the packaging and inner box labels according to JEDEC standard JESD97.
