1. Describe

PIC16F785/HV785 has multiple clocks Source and select function to allow it to be used A wide range of applications, while maximizing performance and minimizing power consumption. The clock source can be configured as an external oscillator, quartz crystal resonator, ceramic resonator and Resistor-capacitor (RC) circuit. In addition, the system clock source can be configured as two Internal oscillator, selectable speed Through software. Other clock functions include:

   - Optional external system clock source Or through the software.

   - Two-speed clock startup mode to minimize the delay between external oscillator startup And code execution. 

   - The Fail Safe Clock Monitor (FSCM) is designed to Detect external clock source (LP, XT, HS, EC or RC mode) and switch to Internal oscillator.

PIC16F785/HV785 can be configured as one of the following Eight clock modes.

    1. EC-External clock with I/O on RA4.

    2. LP – 32.768 kHz watch crystal or ceramic Resonator oscillator mode.

    3. XT-medium gain crystal or ceramic Resonator oscillator mode.

    4. HS-high gain crystal or ceramic resonator model.

    5. RC-External resistance capacitance (RC) and FOSC/4 output on RA4

    6. RCIO-External resistor-capacitor with I/O RA4.

    7. INTOSC – Internal oscillator with FOSC/4 output I/O on RA4 and RA5.

    8. INTOSCIO – Internal oscillator with I/O on RA4 And RA5.

The clock source mode is determined by The FOSC<2:0> bits in the Configuration Word (see Section 15.0 "Special Features of the CPU"). once PIC16F785/HV785 has been programmed, clock The source mode is configured and cannot be software.
