1. Description

The NEO-M8P-0 module combines the high-performance u-blox M8 positioning engine with u-blox real-time kinematics (RTK) technology. NEO-M8P provides centimeter-level GNSS performance, designed to meet the needs of driverless cars and other machine control applications that require precise guidance. u-blox's RTK technology introduces the concepts of "rover" and "basic", providing amazing centimeter-level accuracy on the M8 platform in a clear sky environment. The basic module sends a correction to the rover module through the communication link through the RTCM protocol so that the rover can output its position relative to the reference. NEO-M8P is very suitable for applications that require vehicles to travel faster, more accurately, operate more efficiently and automatically return to the basic platform. Such applications include drones, driverless cars and precision agriculture guides. The NEO-M8P module gives system integrators access to u-blox's complete end-to-end RTK solution, which includes a fixed "survey" function designed to reduce setup time and increase application flexibility. NEO‑M8P includes mobile baseline (MB) support, which allows both the base station and the rover to move when calculating the precise position between the base station and the rover. A mobile baseline is ideal for drone applications where the drone is programmed to follow its baseline owner or land on a mobile platform. It is also very suitable for attitude sensing applications, where the basic module and the rover module are installed on the same mobile platform, and the relative position is used to derive the attitude information of the vehicle or tool. The NEO-M8P module is compatible with a variety of communication technologies, allowing users to choose the communication link most suitable for their application.
