1. Description
The SARA-U260-00S series module is a 3.75G UMTS/HSPA solution, with a miniature (26.0x 16.0mm, 96-pin) SARA LGA form factor GSM/(E)GPRS fallback function, which can be seamlessly transplanted/to other u-blox cellular module series. The SARA-U2 module has HSPA data rates of 7.2 Mbit/s and 5.76 Mbit/s. These modules can provide data and voice communications in an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, with low power consumption and a rich feature set (including dual-stack IPv4/IPv6). The SARA-U2 series includes variants with various combinations of supported frequency bands for global operations, applicable to North America, Europe, Asia and other countries/regions. A cost-saving UMTS-only variant is also provided. The SARA-U2 module is a complete, fully qualified and certified solution that can reduce costs and shorten time to market. They are very suitable for M2M applications, such as: mobile Internet terminals, automotive infotainment and telematics, automatic meter reading (AMR), remote monitoring automation and control (RMAC), surveillance and security, road pricing, asset tracking, fleet management, defense Anti-theft system and point of sale (PoS) terminal. The SARA-U2 module supports full access to the u-blox GNSS receiver via the serial port. Therefore, any host processor connected to the cellular module through a single serial port can control the cellular module and the positioning chip/module. The compact SARA 26.0x 16.0mm form factor with LGA pads can be fully automated by standard pick and place and reflow soldering equipment, thus realizing cost-effective mass production.
